Hello!!!This is a post to talk about this team (My premier league team jeje)

Blackburn Rovers Football Club is an English Premier League football club based in the town of Blackburn, Lancashire.

The club was established in 1875, becoming a founding member of The Football League in 1888. It is one of only three clubs to have been both a founder member of the Football League and the Premier League (the others being Aston Villa and Everton). In 1890 Rovers moved to its permanent home at Ewood Park. Prior to the formation of the Premier League in 1992, most of the club's successes were before 1930, when it had gained league and FA Cup trophies on several occasions. Relegation in 1966 was followed by 26 successive seasons of football outside the top flight.

In 1992, Blackburn was promoted to the new Premier League a year after being taken over by local steel baron Jack Walker, who installed Kenny Dalglish as manager. In 1995, Blackburn became league champion, having spent millions of pounds on players like Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton. However, the title-winning team was quickly split up and, in 1999, the club was relegated. It was promoted back to the Premier League two years later, just after Walker's death, and has been in the top flight ever since. During this time it has qualified for the UEFA Cup four times: once as League Cup winners, twice as the Premier League's sixth-placed team and once via the Intertoto Cup. The 2009–10 season marks the club's 70th nonconsecutive year in the top flight.

The club's Latin motto "Arte et labore", the club's translation of this is "By Skill & Hard Work".

Report: Sydney FC 1 Rovers 2

Rovers ended the Sydney Festival of Football as runners up after defeating Sydney FC 2-1 in their final game.

After slow starts in the previous matches against Rangers and eventual winners AEK Athens, Rovers were quick out of the blocks against hosts Sydney.

Chances came and went for Rovers, but eventually the deadlock was broken on 37 minutes when Sydney native Brett Emerton controlled Nzonzi's flick with his chest before firing home from close range.

The second half saw Rovers double their lead when substitute Junior Hoilett crossed and Morten Gamst Pedersen bundled the ball home.

Alex Brosque gave the home fans some cheer when he finished a flowing move to reduce arrears with nine minutes to go, but despite a couple of late scares, they held on to claim the win.

ROVERS: Bunn, Salgado (sub Chimbonda 71 mins), Olsson, Nelsen (sub Hanley 58 mins), Givet, Grella (sub Jones 57 mins), Emerton (sub Hoilett 57 mins), Dunn (sub Andrews 66 mins), Pedersen, Diouf, Nzonzi.

Subs not used: Robinson, Jacobsen, Linganzi, Morris, Rigters.

Di Santo isn't in the squad. He was on loan last year. He's a Chelsea player actually.

Yes, I'd sell him.

Actually, Blackburn strikers are Kalinic, Jason Roberts and Rigters. Diouf can play there. We need a striker!!!

Sam Allardyce seals Mame Biram Diouf loan

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce has successfully managed to bolster his strikeforce by landing the Manchester United forward Mame Biram Diouf on a season-long loan arrangement.

The 22-year-old Senegal international moved to Old Trafford from Norwegian side Molde just over 12 months ago and made six appearances from the substitute's bench for Sir Alex Ferguson's side. He previously netted 33 goals in 75 games for Molde.

Meanwhile, Allardyce has vowed not to rush Phil Jones too fast. The teenager has already broken in to Rovers' first team, but the Blackburn boss has promised to make sure he does not use him too often at this early stage in his career.

He said:"Phil is 18 and you have to take into account the delicate state of his body. He has not matured into an adult yet. When you are playing in the top league in the world it can be a huge risk if he is overplayed.

"The perfect example is Michael Owen. Liverpool overplayed him at 18. All of a sudden he is riddled with hamstring injuries and despite only being 30 he is now struggling to recapture the form from when he was 21. We have to guard against that."

Benjani Mwaruwari closes in on Blackburn Rovers move

Blackburn Rovers are considering a move for Benjani Mwaruwari following the Zimbabwe international's release by Manchester City.

The 31-year-old has trained with Sam Allardyce's squad this week as Rovers look to strengthen their striking options ahead of the new Premier League season. Allardyce has spent the summer searching for an inexpensive solution to his side's lack of goals last term and, though he signed Mame Biram Diouf on a season-long loan from Manchester United last week, believes another striker is required.

Benjani endured a miserable spell at City following his £3.9m transfer from Portsmouth in February 2008, scoring just four times in 23 appearances for the club before being allowed to join Sunderland on loan last season.

Steve Bruce declined the option to sign the striker on a permanent basis but, given Blackburn's needs and his availability on a free transfer, Benjani could complete a move to Ewood Park should he impress in training this week.

First match, first victory. Ewood Park is a stronghold!!!I

Although, the victory was due to an error by Tim Howard that Kalinic didn't spare.

Blackburn's lineup was:

Paul Robinson
Salgado - Nelsen - Samba - Givet
E.Diouf - Phil Jones - Pedersen - Dunn - Olsson
Kalinic

Phil Jones was again given a vote of confidence by manager Sam Allardyce in a new defensive midfield role. It was a surprise for me that Steven Nzonzi had to settle for a place on the bench.

Negative note of match was Dunn's injury in 9'. It looked like a hamstring injury.

Second match and Blackburn lost against Birminghan. Foster was the man of the match with his saves, penalty included. If it wasn`t for him and two goals of Gardner in key moments, Blackburn could have got the points.

Lineup was:

Robinson
Michel - Samba - Nelsen - Givet
E-H.Diouf - Nzonzi - Phil Jones - Pedersen - Olsson
Kalinic

Blackburn did a good match, but they lost...They were better in many stages of the match, but Bolton was more effective in front of goal.

The starting lineup was:

Robinson
Michel - Nelsen - Samba - Givet - Olsson
Pedersen - Emerton - Phil Jones - E-H. Diouf
Jason Roberts.

Blackburn bids for Ronaldinho and Beckham

BLACKBURN, England (AP) -- English Premier League struggler Blackburn hopes to sign Ronaldinho from AC Milan and has approached David Beckham in an attempt to sign the former England captain on loan.

The chairperson of the Indian company that bought Blackburn in November said Tuesday that its Brazilian office is negotiating with representatives of Ronaldinho, a two-time world player of the year and 2002 World Cup winner.

Venky's chairperson Anuradha J. Desai said that Blackburn offered the Brazil forward a 2 1/2-year contract worth $32.8 million.

"We have made a bid for Ronaldinho and I believe there are a couple of other clubs trying for Ronaldinho,'' Desai told BBC radio. "One is a French club and another is a local Brazilian club. We are still negotiating.

"I understand from our source in Brazil that he is keen to play in the EPL and I think that goes in our favor.''

The 30-year-old Ronaldinho has been strongly linked with a return to his native Brazil after playing for Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Milan during a decade in Europe.

But Desai said Venky's had offered Ronaldinho ?7.6 million for the remainder of this season, with another ?8.5 million for each of the following two seasons.

Desai added that Blackburn approached Beckham in the hope of signing him on loan from Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy.

With Tottenham also interested in signing Beckham, the player's management has said he is waiting for the Galaxy to decide whether he can leave on loan for a third straight northern hemisphere winter.

"We were trying to establish some invite to Mr. Beckham here,'' Desai said. "I think he has some other commitments but we are open whenever he is ready to come down.''

Blackburn is 12th in the standings, three points above the relegation zone.

Bad match against Chelsea. Blackburn hasn`t defensive midfielders and it's a problem. David Dunn was injured in the first half, other midfielder K.O

Lineup vsChelsea

Robinson
Salgado - Samba - Nelsen - Givet
Hoillet - Dunn (Lowe) - Pedersen - Olsson
Mame Diouf - Kalinic (Santa Cruz)

Rovers will buy 3 or 4 players more. I haven't any doubt that Santa Cruz will be starter. We'll see the players that they buy
