Player Values Suddenly go up?? Why??

I've read and understood the means of price values.

For the past few months the prices have been falling steadily, but in the past week they have been growing rapidly.

Can someone explain this please??? The only reasonable explanation I can find is that a bunch of people recently joined and started spending money on players - something very unlikely!!!
