Key Locations & Events
The Norikura Skyline isn’t just a pretty stretch of tarmac; it’s a hub for some of the most intense events in the game. Here is what you should check out when you head up the mountain:
Norikura Descent Street Race: This is a thrilling point-to-point race that sends you plunging down the mountainside. You have to watch your braking zones carefully here—aggressive AI or online opponents can easily nudge you over the cliffside edges if you aren't defensive on the corners.
Yuki Touge Tracks: If you live for the sideways slide, this area features intersecting drift and speed zones tailored specifically for tight, responsive setups.
Discover Japan Points: For the completionists out there, exploring the nooks and crannies of the Norikura pass rewards you with regional points. You'll need these to unlock high-tier Festival stamps and progress your horizon career.

Discovering 100% of the Road
One of the most frustrating things for Horizon players is sitting at 99.8% road discovery and not knowing where that last microscopic piece of asphalt is. Because of its tight design, the
Norikura Skyline is notorious for hiding unmapped slivers of road in its hairpins and offramps.
If you are stuck trying to get that 100% milestone badge, use this quick checklist:
Filter Map Symbols: Open up your world map and toggle off all icons (races, PR stunts, houses). This leaves you with a clean look at the map grid so you can spot any grayed-out or unpainted road textures.
Zoom into the Hairpins: Zoom all the way into the sharpest corners of the Skyline. Often, a tiny orange tip at the apex of a hairpin hasn't actually been driven over, preventing the game from counting the segment.
The Fast Travel Trick: Gently hover your cursor along the road segments. If the fast travel prompt suddenly disappears from the bottom-left corner of your screen, you've found the exact spot you missed.
Recommended Vehicles & Tuning
To conquer the Norikura switchbacks, you need to leave your top-speed drag builds in the garage. Power means nothing if you plow straight into a guardrail. Prioritize lateral grip, weight distribution, and responsive low-end torque.
Vehicle Drive Type Why It Rules the Mountain
Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) AWD Exceptional all-wheel-drive traction allows you to claw out of tight hairpins without spinning out.
Mazda RX-7 (FD) RWD Perfect 50:50 weight distribution makes it the premier choice for a dedicated, smooth drift build.
Toyota AE86 Trueno RWD The quintessential touge legend. It’s lightweight and incredibly nimble for snappy corner transitions.
Collectibles Nearby
While you are carving up the mountain or waiting for your next matchmaking lobby, keep an eye on your mini-map (or open up a community Interactive Map Guide) to hunt down the collectibles hidden along the pass:
Bonus Boards: Keep your eyes peeled near the steep slopes and concrete embankments. Turn 10 placed a few boards in spots where the extreme elevation changes can be used as natural launch ramps to get your car airborne.
Photo Challenges: The peak altitudes of Norikura offer clear photography spots overlooking the vast mountain ranges below. It's the perfect place to park your favorite ride, open up Photo Mode, and grab a clean screenshot against the clouds.
