If you are diving into Aion 2, you will quickly notice two numbers tracking your progress: Gear Score and
Combat Power (CP). It is easy to confuse the two, but here is the real deal: Gear Score is mostly just a gatekeeper that unlocks higher-tier dungeons, while your CP reflects your character’s actual, true strength in battle.
Boosting your CP early on is the key to smooth leveling. To get from level 1 to level 45 and beyond without hitting a brick wall, you need a smart mix of gear upgrades, skill progression, and stat prioritization. Here is a practical, no-nonsense roadmap to optimizing your character's power.
1. Smart Gear Management & Upgrades
Your gear gives you the most immediate spike in raw CP, but resource management is everything. If you waste your materials early on, you will completely stall your endgame progression.
Prioritize Weapons First: When you have resources to upgrade, always put them into your weapon first. Weapon upgrades give you the biggest initial jump in damage output and overall CP.
Spread Your Enhancements Evenly: Don't pour all your gold into maxing out one piece of chest armor. It is significantly cheaper and more efficient to upgrade multiple armor pieces to +1 than it is to force a single item to +5. Spreading enhancements out maximizes your CP per Kinah spent.
Extract, Never Sell: When you get a gear upgrade, never sell or delete your old equipment. Extracting gear returns 100% of the enhancement stones you used to upgrade it, costing only a minor Kinah fee.
Grab PvP Accessories Early: If you run into PvE dungeon reward walls and can't progress, spend your Abyss Points (AP) on PvP accessories first rather than saving up a massive amount for a weapon. Items like earrings and necklaces give a huge chunk of raw stats and damage boosts for a relatively low currency investment.
Fill Every Single Slot: An empty slot is wasted CP. Keep every slot full, even if it’s just with basic gear. If you are missing accessories, keep an eye out for side quests around level 22, which unlock your first accessory sets.
2. Skill & Daevanion Board Progression
Upgrading your skills does more than just alter your damage rotation—it actively scales your passive Combat Power.
Invest in Daevanion Boards: Do not skip green regional quests and sealed dungeons (the question marks on your map). These reward you with Daevanion tokens and points. Investing these into your skill boards can easily grant you upwards of 500+ permanent CP.
Aim for Skill Level Breakpoints: Don't spread your skill points too thin. Focus heavily on your class's primary rotation to hit levels 8, 12, and 16. These exact breakpoints unlock powerful bonus effect modifiers that change how your skills function.
Go Feather Hunting: Keep an eye out for feathers while exploring main cities and open-world maps. You can trade these at the Monolith for Wisdom Stones, which award free skill points when used.
3. Core Stat Prioritization
When you are rolling additional attributes via mana stones or picking between different gear pieces, keep in mind that not all stats are created equal. You want to prioritize stats that maximize your damage coefficients.
Stat Priority Why It Matters
Accuracy Tier 1 Essential for the early game. If you miss your attacks, none of your other damage multipliers matter.
Smite Tier 1 Triggers massive double-damage windows. This is by far the strongest offensive multiplier in the game right now.
Combat Speed Tier 2 Maximizes your basic attacks so you can quickly regenerate Mana (MP) while your main skills are on cooldown.
Weapon / Overall Damage Boost Tier 2 Great general multipliers that offer a superior benefit compared to niche, flat stats.
Perfect Hit Avoid Only triggers at maximum weapon range, making it significantly weaker and less reliable than Smite or Crit.
4. Continuous Consumable Buffs
One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is leaving hundreds of "free" Combat Power points on the table by simply forgetting to use temporary buffs.
Combat & Movement Speed Scrolls: Always pop these during difficult story boss fights. The extra speed makes it much easier to dodge telegraphed red circles on the ground and smooths out your skill combo chains.
Damage Boost Scrolls & Food: Whenever you hit a progression wall in the main story, check your inventory. Stack generic damage consumables alongside food buffs to temporarily push your stats over the edge and break through tough encounters.
